A Gas Diffusion Analysis Method for Simulating Surface Nitrous Oxide Emissions in Soil Gas Concentrations Measurement

The detection of low gas concentrations from the soil surface demands expensive high-precision devices to estimate nitrous oxide (N2O) flux. As prevalence N2O concentration in atmosphere is higher than its surface, present study aimed simulate flux (CF) measured a soil-interred silicone diffusion cell using low-cost device. methodological steps included determination coefficient membrane (Dslcn), measurement temporal variations (Csi) and on (MF), development simulation process for predicting CF. Two experiments varying procedure periods moisture saturation each fertilized sample were conducted detect Csi MF. Using Dslcn Csi, (Csoil) predicted by solving equation implicit finite difference analysis method. Similarly, six diffusivity models, CF values simulated Csoil. For both experiments, statistical tests confirmed good agreement with MF models 4 5. We suggest that tested method appropriate emissions.
